I Performed My First Execution Today
...of the dreaded Form 4473, that is.
Conscious that today is Buy A Gun Day, I went to one of the two or three gun shops remaining in the County and came away with a nice little slightly-used Marlin 25N with a Bushnell 3-9x32 scope on see-through mounts. The bore looks nice and I saw no firing-pin dings on the chamber mouth. I'll try and find the owner's manual on the Web.
There's bad news, too. (sorta)
The clerk gave me a flyer for what appears to be the new only range in the county, which appears to be about 25 miles away. The previous only range in the county was "only" about 12 miles away. I think the ex-brother may be right about the desirability of selling out and clearing out as quick as may be. It seems the bad ratio now is something like 160 golf curses to one shootin' range

Oooh - that is a bad ratio. I was surprised and pleased to find that the King County / Seattle Metro area actually has several outdoor ranges. True, there's only one strictly indoor range - but some of the outdoor ranges have pistol ranges (one is indoors) as part of the complex.
Enjoy your new 'old' gun!
