Oh Happy Day!
It's May Day. Though I'm not a Commie and think outdoor copulation silly due to attendant risk of mosquito bites and melanoma, I'm right happy with events today, at least two of 'em:
1. This is actually more of a non-event; I haven't heard a single Goddamned dogfucking (when I write "dog" I don't mean "bitch") leaf-blower all day today, nor a hedge trimmer, nor a lawn mower. I have not seen the lawn forcement trucks'ntrailers blocking the roads.
The lawn here has not been mown since some time in maybe January, nor has it needed mowing, due to not having been sprinkled. What is it with these insane Midwesterners and their Mexicans that they want to keep things wet during the dry season? Florida lawns are *supposed* to be brown from November to May!
2. I went to the store today and picked up my long-awaited Kenneth Alford CD. (Band of H.M. Royal Marines, on Chandos,CHAN6584). It just warms my cockles. Snork. No, seriously, I got to hear some pieces I hadn't heard since I'd played them in high school, many years ago. Actually I think we did one or two better; Capt. Mason chose tempi a bit too fast on "Army of th Nile", "The Vanished Army", and "The Mad Major."
Still and all, though, it was a very emotional experience listening to the recordings, especially "The Vanished Army." That one'll make yer eyes wet. -

An excellent purchase to counter the dipsh*t illegals/boycott - well done. My own contribution was to buy a new flag :-)
